Every January, the international offshore wind research community gathers in Trondheim, Norway, for the EERA DeepWind conference, a leading event dedicated to advancing research and innovation in deep-sea offshore wind energy.
Co-organised by SINTEF, NTNU, and EERA JP Wind, the 2027 edition will bring together researchers, industry representatives and other key stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share the latest scientific breakthroughs, and explore innovative solutions for the future of offshore wind energy, both bottom-fixed and floating.
Since its first edition in 2004, EERA DeepWind has established itself as a key international forum for offshore wind R&I. Its programme combines high-level plenary presentations with parallel technical sessions and poster presentations, covering a broad range of scientific and technological challenges. Participants also have the opportunity to publish their research in an open-access special issue of the Journal of Physics: Conference Series, subject to successful peer review.
The 2027 conference is chaired by Konstanze Kölle, Research Manager at SINTEF, alongside Trond Kvamsdal and Michael Muskulus, professors at NTNU.
Konstanze also plays a key role in EERA JP Wind, as Management Board member and coordinating Sub-Programme 3 on Wind Energy Systems Integration. Her involvement in both the conference leadership and JP Wind's strategic research activities strengthens the connection between cutting-edge offshore wind research and the wider European research and innovation agenda.
Through its strong scientific programme and international network, EERA DeepWind continues to foster collaboration, stimulate new ideas and accelerate progress towards the next generation of offshore wind technologies.
