New Report: "From Innovation to Industrial Competitiveness" – How Wind R&I funding will deliver European technology sovereignty

During WInd Europe Conference in Copenhagen, a report “From Innovation to Industrial Competitiveness”, developed jointly by ETIPWind, EERA JP Wind, and IWG Wind, has been released to advocate on a more structured European fund to boost wind energy competitiveness and innovation.
The report provides an important overview of how R&I (Research & Innovation) funding can be better leveraged to strengthen the wind sector in Europe. It:
Defines a common European R&I strategy for wind energy towards 2050
Analyses current EU funding streams dedicated to wind R&I
Provides key recommendations to optimise public funding mechanisms
A central proposal of the report is the creation of a single European Fund for Wind Research & Competitiveness, to be introduced in the next EU budget cycle (2028–2034). This fund would consolidate and better target resources to maximise impact and support Europe’s leadership in wind energy and can be the first element of a future Center of Excellence.
